Resilience Resisdential
Cultivating resilience and resiting burn out is necessary for challenging systems of injustice
The resilience residency (2021) was a 6 week residency focusing on empowering youth climate leaders to resist burn out culture, and ultimately build resilience for a more sustainable climate movement.
Run as six weekly facilitated two hour sessions. Each of the six sessions focused on topics such as eco anxiety, burnout, building resilience, letting go of perfectionism, redesigning narratives around climate activism and embracing joy, care, community, and compassion.
This residency helped me centre rest and self care in my wider work, changed my perceptions about what both activism and leadership can look like and laid the foundation for all that I do today. I still use lessons learned here three years on in my every day life. It’s also where I met my core friends and community members so I will be forever grateful for all that these six weeks gave me.
These residencies still happen yearly run by The Resilience Project.
