Trawsnewid

Transformation. Protest. Queer Welsh heritage.

Trawsnewid was my first time exhibiting work, a project focused on transformation for queer people involving workshops, talks and a final exhibition my work focuses on transformation through community, and different forms of protest.

Trawsnewid was an Amgueddfa Cymru- National Museum Wales project aimed at LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25. Run online and in person at the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea it explored queer Welsh history and the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ people living in Wales today through talks and workshops.

Welsh LGBTQ+ history, culture and artwork was celebrated through an exhibition including select objects as well as new artworks produced by Amgueddfa Cymru Producers. I included a mix of embroidery work and protest signs focusing on heritage and transformation of self and the world through protest and art.

I also ran patch making workshops both online and for Pride Cymru as part of this project
